Duplin Wine Cellars, now Duplin Winery, produced the first N.C. brandy since prohibition to stimulate the fledgling N.C. grape industry. The brandy, distilled from locally grown Carlos, Magnolia and Scuppernong grape varieties, was first marketed in 1982.
