North Carolina Baptists on Mission wants to bring its health and dental screening programs to North Carolina farms and farmworkers. The faith-based organization is looking for farms to partner with for weekday visits. The health screenings focus on assessing vital signs, heart disease risk, cholesterol levels, body mass index, depression and diabetes. Dental assistance focuses on immediate needs such as fillings and extractions, but can provide cleanings, too. Farmers interested in bringing a mobile unit to their farm can contact Krissy Watson at

- We are fortunate at the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services to partner with many organizations within and outside of agriculture.
- That includes N.C. Baptists on Mission that we have worked with before to help distribute emergency food assistance, operate on-site feeding programs and dental and health screenings at the State Fair.
- The organization has recently began offering to take its health and dental screening mobile units to farms to address needs of farm workers.
- So, they are looking for farms and farmers to partner with during the week days when the mobile units are not used as much.
- These services are free and can help address immediate and long-term health needs of workers.
- The health screenings focus on assessing vital signs, heart disease risk, cholesterol levels, body mass index, depression and diabetes.
- Dental assistance focuses on immediate needs such as fillings and extractions but can also include cleanings.
