Coastal K-9 Bakery
Coastal K-9 Bakery is known as the premier dog bakery in Wilmington. Since 2004, the bakery has been providing non-GMO dog treats, cakes and cupcakes to interested customers across the community. Owner Jackie Oakes offers four flavors to choose from: peanut butter, bark-b-q ribs, apple oatmeal and sweet potato. All treats and baked goods are crafted with no added sodium, sugar, artificial colors, flavors, preservatives or animal fats/oils. Treats and cakes can be customized for any occasion!
Coastal K-9 Bakery was born out of Jackie’s desire to make dog treats that her fur baby, Tippy, could enjoy. The English Springer Spaniel was prone to severe ear infections caused by food allergies, including a variety of grains. Like most moms, Jackie wanted her baby to live a full life and have treats that would make him happy, not sick. So, she began making homemade treats for him using healthy ingredients. After falling in love with the art of doing it as well as the joy on her dogs face, Jackie decided to make a full career out of treat making. Today, Tippy’s Treats come in a variety of sizes and shapes. In addition to their Wilmington Store, they can be found in Harris Teeter stores, Lowe’s Foods stores, Tidal Creek Co-op and Whole Foods stores across North Carolina as well as Tennessee and Alabama.

Kelley started making accessories for her beagle Nami on an old sewing machine with extra fabric her mother had on hand. She also cooked up homemade dog treats to keep Nami happy, which she continues to sell to interested customers. Today, she is honored to serve the community through her online store and pop-up markets across North Carolina, especially near the Charlotte area.
