Advanced tickets on sale for two fairs.

by | Aug 10, 2021

Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler sits down each week with Southern Farm Network’s Mike Davis to discuss “Today’s Topic.”

Summary: Plans are coming together, and advanced tickets are now on sale for the N.C. Mountain State Fair, Sept. 10-19 and the N.C. State Fair, Oct. 14-24. Be sure to put these dates on your calendar.

Today’s Topic
  • 31 and 65 – that’s the number of days we are from the start of the N.C. Mountain State Fair and the N.C. State Fair.
  • Both of these fairs have been a long time in the making, so our staff are busy getting the grounds ready and planning for opening day, our vendors are getting excited and we hope fairgoers are getting excited, too.
  • Advanced tickets are on sale for both fairs now, and I would encourage fairgoers to buy in advance to avoid lines to get into the fair. Not only do you save time when show up at the fair, but you also save money by buying in advance.
  • Savings are close to 40 percent off for the Mountain State Fair ride tickets and $2 off gate admission.
  • And you can save $3 off an adult admission ticket to the State Fair and save $8 off ride tickets by buying in advance.
  • Go to www.mountainfair.org for tickets to the Mountain State Fair or go to www.ncstatefair.org to for the State Fair advanced tickets.
  • The Mountain State Fair and the State Fair are events I look forward to every year, and it was odd not to have a full fair in 2020. I have been encouraging people to get their vaccines so we can get back to enjoying activities and events such as the fairs.
  • I was proud we WERE able to offer junior livestock shows at both the Mountain State Fair and the State Fair for youth competitors. We do plan to expand the livestock competitions in keeping with some of the set-up in 2020.
  • This will allow us to spread out competitors more. We will even be holding a new hair breed sheep show at the State Fair this year.
  • I’ll be sharing more about the Mountain State Fair and the State Fair in the weeks ahead, but I encourage you to add the fair dates to your calendars and make plans now to attend.
  • The Mountain State Fair runs Sept. 10-19 at the Western N.C. Ag Center in Fletcher. The N.C. State Fair runs Oct. 14-24 at the State Fairgrounds in Raleigh.
