“Most of our members are start-up food businesses with products that may not yet be on retail shelves,” said Sue Ellsworth, founder of WE Power Food. “The great thing about these boxes is you get to try many different food products in one box. And perhaps discover a new favorite.”

Boxes range in price from $30 to $60 and include NC sauces, pickles, desserts, jams, relishes, mixes and more. It is the perfect gift for an individual or a family that might be staying home for the holidays.

Proceeds from the sale of the boxes will go to support other woman-owned food businesses through the We Power Food scholarship program. “The scholarship program helps a female-owned business move her company forward through free kitchen time, mentoring or help with other business expenses such as packaging or labels,” Ellsworth added.

WE Power Food is a collective designed for women, led by women to empower and support women food producers through strong networks and the sharing of resources. The collective’s two goal areas include developing resources and support networks to benefit women in food business and to foster change in the business environment to help women-owned food businesses succeed and flourish.
