Today’s Topic: Auxin training scheduled

by | Jan 16, 2020

Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler sits down each week with Southern Farm Network’s Mike Davis to discuss “Today’s Topic.”

Through March, 31 training workshops have been planned statewide for anyone planning to apply auxin herbicides such as 2,4-D or dicamba. These are mandatory trainings to reduce the chance of misapplication and crop damage. This year, anyone who intends to use the herbicide paraquat will need to be a certified private applicator or be licensed in an appropriate category. The new labeling requires applicators to successfully complete training once every three years.
