It’s that time of the year again, grilling season!
When we think of summer break, we think about the warm weather, swimming in pools and lakes, hiking in the mountains, and of course the smell of a cookout.
To kick off this summer, come out this Memorial Day weekend to the Greensboro Farmers’ Curb Market and the Carrboro Cookout at the Carrboro Farmers’ Market to celebrate grilling season.

The Greensboro Farmers Curb Market will host a “Got To Be NC Kick off to Summer” sampling of seasonal foods and activities. The event will take place on the lawn at the corner of Lindsay & Yanceyville streets (501 Yanceyville Street). Greensboro chef, Chris Scalici of Artistic Cuisine, will be serving samples of NC pork barbecue sliders, locally sourced slaw and veggies Saturday, May 25, from 10 a.m. to noon, or while supplies last.
The Carrboro Cookout will also take place on Saturday, May 25. Visitors can taste samples of various products from Carrboro Farmers’ Market meat vendors and prepared by Kevin Callaghan of Acme Food & Beverage Co., Sunset Ridge Buffalo Farm, and Left Bank Butchery/Cane Creek Farm. Shop several local meat vendors including Cane Creek Farm, Dawnbreaker Farms, Sunset Ridge Buffalo Farm, Baldwin Beef, Brinkley Farms, Chapel Hill Creamery, Eco Farm, McAdams Farm and Three Waters Farm.

The Cookout is located at the Carrboro Farmers Market at 301 W Main Street, Carrboro. Hours are 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. or while supplies last.
Many of the 200 local farmers markets across the state offer local meat products. Visit ncfarmfresh to find a market near you.
