Whenever there is a national food recall where a product is known to have been distributed in our state, our Food and Drug Protection Division inspectors fan out across the state conducting recall-effectiveness checks. With a recent recall on Kellogg’s Honey Smacks cereal, inspectors found the recalled product in one out of every 10 grocery stores they checked, prompting a warning to consumers and stop-sale notices for the stores.
