Across the state, farmers are heading back into the fields, getting ready to plant their 2018 crops. The National Agricultural Statistics Services recently announced planting intentions for 2018, with farmers indicating they planned to plant more cotton, corn and winter wheat in 2018. Plantings of flue-cured tobacco, soybeans, peanuts and sweet potatoes are expected to be down.
