by | Jan 2, 2018

Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler sits down each week with Southern Farm Network’s Mike Davis to discuss “Today’s Topic.”

As of Jan. 1, portions or all of 75 of the state’s 100 counties now fall under fire ant quarantine rules. Residents and business owners in these counties will need to obtain a permit before moving plants, sod and related equipment into or through non-infested areas. Items that will require a permit include nursery stock, sod, soil, hay and straw, logs or pulpwood with soil, and soil-moving equipment.
