Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler sits down each week with Southern Farm Network’s Rhonda Garrison to discuss “Today’s Topic.”
The N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services will host workshops for farmers market managers next month in Winston-Salem and Mount Olive.
Commissioner Troxler says the workshops make it easy for local managers to learn about best practices, share success stories and discover new resources to help them improve their markets.
The following workshops are scheduled:
- March 4 at the Forsyth County Cooperative Extension Center in Winston-Salem. Deadline for registration is Feb. 26.
- March 18 in the Holmes and Lois Murphy Regional Center at the University of Mount Olive. Registration for that workshop is due March 11.
Both workshops will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The agendas will be identical for each workshop and will include presentations on grant funding, digital marketing and social media.
There also will be an overview of payment options available to market vendors, plus small group discussions and networking opportunities.
The cost is $20 and includes lunch.
A complete agenda and registration forms are available here. For more information, contact Kevin Hardison at 919-707-3123 or kevin.hardison@ncagr.gov.
