September features recipes made with apples, one of the stars of the fall harvest. Plan a trip to your local orchard or farmers market to pick up fresh N.C. apples.
This week, Brian and Lisa are making an apple crostata with N.C.-grown Honeycrisp or Fuji apples. A crostata is an Italian-baked dessert tart, and a form of pie. Lisa notes this recipe “looks fancy but it’s not hard to make… and can also be made with different types of fruit.”
