North Carolina undergraduate and graduate students majoring in horticulture or agribusiness at a four-year state college or university may be interested in a scholarship being offered by the N.C. Tomato Growers Association. The deadline to submit an application is June 30.
The $1,000 merit/need-based scholarship is for the 2013-2014 academic year. The award will be based on a student’s demonstrated scholastic achievement, initiative, leadership, financial need and extracurricular activities. The recipient must maintain at least a 2.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0 on all coursework during the scholarship period. In addition, the recipient must be enrolled for the entire school year to receive the full scholarship, which will be paid through the financial office in two installments at $500 per semester.
