In the Kitchen with Brian and Lisa: Chocolate-Pecan Chess Pie

by | Jan 31, 2013

WRAL reporter Brian Shrader and our own Lisa Prince feature seasonal recipes in their Got to Be Good Cookin’ segment using ingredients grown and available right here in North Carolina.

Finishing up a month of cold-weather recipes, Brian and Lisa create a dessert that is sure to warm your heart. Chocolate-Pecan Chess Pie is a simple, but satisfying recipe, perfect for your next family gathering.

This recipe makes enough filling for a deep-dish pie crust. Lisa says if you use a regular crust, you will have just enough batter left over to fill two ramekins. Bake the ramekins with the pie crust, and you will have two single-serve desserts to enjoy after your guests leave.

Don’t forget to wash the dessert down with some fresh N.C. milk. You can find milk, pecans and other locally produced items for this recipe at www.ncfarmfresh.com.
