Out of the field and into the classroom

by Jen Kendrick | Jan 29, 2013

This is the slow time of year for most farmers. As such, it’s the time of year when commodity groups hold their meetings and when the department and our partners host continuing education-type classes and workshops. We’ve sent out a handful of news releases recently announcing classes. Here’s a list of upcoming opportunities through NCDA&CS. Click on the title to find out dates and locations:

  • Voluntary Ag District workshops to be held around the state
  • NCDA&CS to offer seminar for food processors Feb. 5 in Charlotte
  • NCDA&CS offers free price-risk management workshops for farmers
  • N.C. Pecan Growers Association’s educational meeting and orchard visit planned for Feb. 16
  • Agritourism Networking Association to meet in Carolina Beach Feb. 21-22
  • NCDA&CS to host workshops for farmers market managers
