Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler sits down each week with Southern Farm Network’s Rhonda Garrison to discuss “Today’s Topic.”

Southern Farm Network logoThe eighth annual Ag Development Forum is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 31, during the Southern Farm Show at the State Fairgrounds in Raleigh. The forum will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Holshouser Building. Admission is free, and lunch will be provided.

The forum is an opportunity for farmers, agribusinesses and others with an interest in North Carolina agriculture to hear an economic and policy outlook for the year. The keynote speaker this year is Dr. Nick Piggott, an agricultural economist at N.C. State University.

The forum also will feature representatives of N.C. agribusinesses, who will share stories of how they succeeded in bringing local foods to market. And Commissioner Troxler will give his thoughts on North Carolina agriculture in his annual State of Agriculture address.
