Busy weekend at the Piedmont Triad Farmers Market

Like summer, things are heating up at local farmers markets across the state as we begin to ease into the peck of the season. They’ll be bringing the best of their fresh produce so, swing by your closest farmers market for some delicious blueberries, watermelons, peaches, squash, corn, tomatoes, cucumbers and so much more.

Here are some special events going on this weekend.

Blueberry Day

Piedmont Triad Farmers Market

Today, June 22; 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Friday is Blueberry Day at the farmers market in Colfax.  Shoppers will be celebrating with homemade blueberry ice cream from Homeland Creamery, located in Julian.

Crawfish Boil

Piedmont Triad Farmers Market

Saturday, June 23; beginning at 10 a.m. until supplies run out

Fresh crawfish from eastern North Carolina will be brought for sale at the market. Crawfish will be $6 a pound live, with a five-pound minimum purchase requirement. Cooked crawfish will be available for $7 a pound and can be purchased in one-pound increments.
