Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler presents Jennifer Rall with the NCDA&CS Employee of the Month award for February 2012.

Jennifer Rall, a program assistant with the N.C. Forest Service, was named the NCDA&CS Employee of the Month for February 2012. She was recognized by Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler during a recent meeting in Raleigh.

Rall assists with the Urban and Community Forestry Program, the Forest Stewardship Program and the Forest Legacy Program. She responds to requests for information on these programs, manages the TreeCity USA program and the Arbor Day Poster Contest, helps plan workshops and trainings, makes presentations on the various programs and represents the programs at trade shows and conferences.

In her nomination letter, Rall’s co-workers wrote:

Jennifer’s keen eye identifies opportunities and has stepped up to be the outreach for TreeCity USA, not simply managing files and folders. She represents the three NCFS programs professionally and with energy and personality. Jennifer is willing to get out into the field and interact with internal and external clients. She shows self-direction in stepping forward to tackle unexpected tasks, as well as contribute ideas to the efficiency and flow of the programs. When the Arbor Day Foundation suspended their poster contest program, Jennifer adapted their program and continues to offer it to 5th Grade students across NC.
