In the Kitchen with Brian and Lisa: Rosemary shrimp skewers

by | Oct 20, 2011

WRAL reporter Brian Shrader and our own Lisa Prince feature seasonal recipes in their Got to Be Good Cookin’ segment using ingredients grown and available right here in North Carolina.

In this segment, Brian and Lisa prepare rosemary shrimp skewers. Coat the N.C. shrimp in olive oil, salt, pepper and a little bit of cayenne pepper. Lisa cautions to use just enough cayenne pepper to bring out the flavors of the shrimp, but not overwhelm them. Once the shrimp are coated, strip the rosemary sprigs and use the stalks to skewer the shrimp. Lisa serves the shrimp with a sweet and spicy dipping sauce, a mixture of orange marmalade and jalapenos.

This recipe would be great for fall tailgating and family gatherings. For the best quality local seafood, make sure you buy in season. You can find out what seafood is currently in season using the seafood availability chart created by the North Carolina Sea Grant.
