In the Kitchen with Brian and Lisa: Gourmet bourbon pecan club panini

by | Sep 29, 2011

WRAL reporter Brian Shrader and our own Lisa Prince feature seasonal recipes in their Got to Be Good Cookin’ segment using ingredients grown and available right here in North Carolina.

This month, Brian and Lisa are showcasing some of the blue-ribbon recipes from the 2010 N.C. State Fair as Lisa prepares for the 2011 specialty food cooking competitions. Mary Boury of Raleigh walked away with first place for this recipe in the N.C. Pecan Growers Association’s pecan recipe contest. What really makes this panini recipe extraordinary is the combination of  N.C. pecans with mustard and cream cheese. Try the sandwich with a side of another 2010 blue-ribbon winner, Vegetarian PB&P Smokey Mac & Cheese.

You can find more information about the 2011 specialty cooking contests on the State Fair website. The entry deadline is Oct. 7. The N.C. State Fair will be held at the N.C.
