Got to Be NC Walmart Tour revs up

The Got to Be NC Big Cart will make stops on the Got to Be NC Walmart Tour this July.

The N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services will hit the road this July with the Got to Be NC Big Cart to spread the word that you can find fresh, local North Carolina food products at your neighborhood Walmart. That’s the idea behind the Got to Be NC Walmart Tour, which started Tuesday at the store in Arden and will work it’s way through the state.

“With so much consumer interest these days in buying local, we put this tour together to highlight North Carolina products that can be found in Walmart stores across the state,” said Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler. “Some of our Goodness Grows in North Carolina members will be on hand offering samples of their products. This is a great way for consumers to try some of the high-quality products made or grown right here in North Carolina.

Samples will be available from 4 to 6 p.m. at each location. The tour will make stops at the following locations:

July 13 — Lincolnton, 401 N. Generals Blvd.
July 14 — Charlotte, 8180 S. Tryon St.
July 18 — Lexington, 160 Lowes Blvd.
July 19 — Asheboro, 1226 E. Dixie Drive
July 26 — Washington, 570 Pamlico Plaza
July 27 — Jacksonville, 2025 N. Marine Road
July 28 — Wilmington, 5226 Sigmon Road
July 29 — Apex, 3151 Apex Peakway
