Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler sits down each week with Southern Farm Network’s Rhonda Garrison to discuss “Today’s Topic.”
State commissioners and secretaries of agriculture from across the South will be in North Carolina next week for the annual meeting of the Southern Association of State Departments of Agriculture.
Commissioner Troxler is serving as president of SASDA, and his duties include playing host to the group’s annual meeting, which will take place June 12-16 in Greensboro.
SASDA is made up of agricultural leaders from 15 Southern states, plus Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. It is a regional affiliate of the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture.
At the meeting, members will discuss agricultural policy issues relevant to the region. In addition, Commissioner Troxler will show them all about N.C. agriculture and agribusiness, including tours of farms.
The meeting’s cost is being covered by the attendees’ registration fees and contributions from private sponsors.
