Today’s Topic: Dig Into Local food shows are April 9 in Asheville & Wilmington, April 16 in Blowing Rock

Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler sits down each week with Southern Farm Network’s Rhonda Garrison to discuss “Today’s Topic.”

Southern Farm Network logoThis week Commissioner Troxler and Rhonda discuss the three Dig Into Local food shows scheduled for this month. The shows will highlight farmers who sell directly to the public.

Two of the food shows will be held Saturday, April 9: From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Azalea Festival in Wilmington, and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the WNC Farmers Market in Asheville. The third show will take place Saturday, April 16, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. outside the Hayes Performing Arts Center in Blowing Rock.

Local farmers who sell directly to the public through farmers markets, Community Supported Agriculture subscriptions and online sales will offer goods for sampling and selling at these shows. Admission is free.

The shows are supported by a grant from the Golden LEAF Foundation.
