The Flavors of Carolina food show in Raleigh saw a 40 percent increase in participation from vendors looking to find new markets for their products.
Last week, the annual Flavors of Carolina food show was held in Raleigh. You could tell a lot about the event, which was held at the Hilton North Raleigh, by looking around the hotel parking lot. Cars, trucks and SUVs were covered with window decals and bumper stickers displaying locally produced sauces, snacks, wines and produce. Other vehicles proudly displayed the Got to Be NC or Goodness Grows in North Carolina logos. Some had both.
It was no surprise that the Flavors of Carolina show was all about N.C. products.
More than 100 vendors attended the show to get their products in front of buyers from restaurants, grocery stores and foodservice companies. Buyers were looking for locally sourced products to include in their inventory. The event, organized by the NCDA&CS, connects local buyers and sellers for the benefit of N.C. agribusiness.
We spoke to some of the buyers and sellers at the show to learn more about the event and why they come back each year. Check out the video below to hear their thoughts.

A similar event was held in Charlotte last month to serve buyers and sellers in the western part of the state. If you own a local food business and would like to learn more about participating in a future Flavors of Carolina food show, please contact Myrtle Earley in our Marketing Division.
