Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler sits down each week with the Southern Farm Network’s Rhonda Garrison to discuss “Today’s Topic.”
Nov. 16-25 is National Farm-City Week, a celebration of the relationships between rural and urban residents.
Across North Carolina, the relationship between city life and farm life continues to grow more dynamic. More and more, development in our state is moving closer to farmland, and in many cases it’s replacing farmland. Still, agriculture remains North Carolina’s top industry, generating more than $74 billion in income and driving the economies of small towns from the mountains to the coast.
Listen is as Commissioner Troxler and Rhonda Garrison discuss the role Farm-City Week plays in educating the non-farming public about the importance of agriculture to our state.
