Southern Farm Network logoThe 2010 N.C. State Fair made history by drawing more than 1 million people for the first time. Helped by fantastic weather, the fair also set eight daily attendance records, including its highest single day ever on Saturday, Oct. 23, when 151,647 people showed up.

The records extended beyond attendance. On Food Lion Hunger Relief Day on Oct. 21, the fair collected more than 246,000 pounds of canned food to benefit the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina.

Listen to Commissioner Troxler and Rhonda discuss the historic 2010 State Fair and how soon planning will begin for 2011.
