With scissors in-hand, Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler and other dignitaries cut the ribbon to open the 143rd N.C. State Fair last Friday. The opening ceremony, held in Heritage Circle, kicked off the annual celebration of agricultural exhibits, rides and food.

Thursday’s Preview Day and Friday’s opening day drew record-breaking crowds to the State Fairgrounds in Raleigh, and more than 131,000 people came to enjoy the festivities on Saturday.
