WRAL reporter Brian Shrader and our own Lisa Prince feature seasonal recipes in their Got to Be Good Cookin’ segment using ingredients grown and available right here in North Carolina.
With just two weeks until the start of the 2010 N.C. State Fair, Lisa and Brian are gearing up with winning recipes from previous State Fair specialty cooking contests. This week’s recipe for pork panini was the winner in 2009’s TarHeel Pork Challenge sponsored by the N.C. Pork Council. The sandwich features grilled N.C. pork tenderloin, cranberry chutney and caramelized onions.
There is still time to enter the specialty cooking contests at the Fair. Entries are due Friday, Oct. 8. Judging for the TarHeel Pork Challenge will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 20, during the 2010 N.C. State Fair.
