In the Kitchen with Brian and Lisa: Caprese salad

WRAL reporter Brian Shrader and our own Lisa Prince feature seasonal recipes in their Got to Be Good Cookin’ segment using ingredients grown and available right here in North Carolina.

With so many fresh tomatoes available at farmers markets in August, it may be tempting to purchase too many at one time. In this segment, Lisa and Brian prepare caprese salad, a simple side dish perfect for using a surplus of tomatoes. Other ingredients, such as basil, oregano and mozzerrella cheese, can also be found at some local farmers markets and roadside stands.
