Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler sits down each week with the Southern Farm Network’s Rhonda Garrison to discuss “Today’s Topic.”
The Atlantic hurricane season begins June 1 and continues through Nov. 30, and forecasts call for a potentially busy season. North Carolina is all-too familiar with hurricanes. Storms such as Fran, Floyd and Isabelle are notorious for the damage they caused on farms since the mid-1990s.
Planning now is essential for helping to reduce storm damage later. On this week’s program, Commissioner Troxler reminds farmers to make preparations to protect their farms, families and workers.
