If you are watching the ACC Tournament this weekend, it’s possible the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services’ Standards Division will be part of your festivities. For example, if you are driving over to a friend’s house to watch a game, or driving to Greensboro to watch the tournament live, the division makes sure you receive the correct amount of gas when you fill up your vehicle. Inspectors also check scales and price scanners at grocery stores. Because of their efforts, you receive a pound of hamburger when you buy a pound of hamburger. Occasionally, they have even measured the height of ACC players in the game (shown above).
