WRAL reporter Brian Shrader and our own Lisa Prince feature seasonal recipes in their Got to Be Good Cookin’ segment using ingredients grown and available right here in North Carolina. We’ll post each video here, along with links to the recipes.
PEE-can/pe-KAHN, to-MAY-to/to-MAH-to? Either way you say it, pecans are the nuts of the hour this week in the Got to Be Good Cookin’ kitchen. Lisa and Brian put together an easy recipe for Sugar and Spice Pecans that, according to Brian, smell just like the holidays.
Speaking of pecans, the State Farmers Market is hosting its annual Pecan Day Friday, Nov. 20, in Raleigh. If you’re in the area, stop by for free pecan samples, recipes and educational materials. The market is also stocked up on a variety of seasonal fruits and vegetables, including pumpkins, mums, pansies, apples, peanuts, sweet potatoes, greens, tomatoes, firewood and honey, as well as North Carolina Christmas trees, wreaths and roping.
You can also find these items at farmers markets across the state or at roadside stands and farms.
