As the holidays get closer, more than 1,600 Christmas tree growers in North Carolina are busy prepping an estimated 50 million Fraser fir trees growing on an estimated 25,000 acres. Fraser Fir trees represent 90 percent of all species grown in North Carolina, and the N.C. Christmas tree industry is ranked first in the nation in cash receipts from Christmas trees.
