WRAL reporter Brian Shrader and our own Lisa Prince feature seasonal recipes in their Got to Be Good Cookin’ segment using ingredients grown and available right here in North Carolina. We’ll post each video here, along with links to the recipes.
The weather is cooling off, football season has started and fall is just around the corner, which means September’s Got the Be Good Cookin’ recipes will center around the N.C. State Fair. This month, Lisa and Brian will show you easy recipes that have won in the Fair’s cooking competitions:
It’s that time of year again when the air starts to get cooler and the leaves begin to turn and the N.C. State Fair is just around the corner. One of the things I love about the Fair is all the food, and I’m not just talking about the foot-long hot dogs and French fries. I’m talking about the Special Cooking Contests that are held every year in the Education Building. We have 12 this year, with six featuring North Carolina commodities and six that are sponsored by National companies. If you think you can create an award-winning recipe and want to win some cash, check out this year’s contests at: www.ncstatefair.org.
This week, the cooking duo puts together a veggie gratin, which helped Amanda Boury of Raleigh get a third place ribbon. You can find the recipe on the Got to Be Good Cookin’ site, along with more N.C. State Fair favorites.
