Complement the waning days of summer with a nice glass of North Carolina wine and a delicious bite of North Carolina muscadine grapes at the State Farmers Market’s Grape Day, Friday, Sept. 11, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wine tastings, grape samples and free recipes are all part of the special event, one of several activities being held in September as part of Wine and Grape Appreciation Month in North Carolina.
The N.C. Wine & Grape Council will sponsor a special wine-tasting area, featuring samples from some of North Carolina’s 80 wineries, while farmers offer samples of locally grown muscadines and free recipes to help inspire visitors in their home kitchens.
In addition to the wine and grape samples being offered during the day, make sure you check out Lu Mil Vineyard, a Market Shoppes staple. The Elizabethtown native will be giving out samples of its homemade muscadine slushies, sure to be a treat for the remaining days of summer.
Bottles of wine also will be available for purchase in the wine-tasting area and at Market Shoppes vendor The Berry Patch.
