In the Kitchen with Lisa and Valonda: Herb biscuits

by | Jun 25, 2009

WRAL noon anchor Valonda Calloway and our own Lisa Prince feature seasonal recipes in their Got to Be Good Cookin’ segment using ingredients grown and available right here in North Carolina. We’ll post each video here, along with links to the recipes.

This week, Lisa and Valonda spice up biscuits with herbs grown in North Carolina. The pair use thyme, but recommend substituting rosemary or dill for a different flavor to go with breakfast, lunch or dinner.

North Carolina herb growers produce a wide variety of herbal products from across our state. Herb plants, medicinal herbs, seeds, roots, bulbs, culinary herbs, aromatics and many other products are available from the mountains to the coast. Whether you are interested in a retail, mail order, or wholesale sources, these growers can assist you with local herbal products.

For more information, check out our marketing division’s herb Web site for links to N.C. herb growers. You can also go straight to the source by finding a herb farm or stand on our Farm Fresh directory.
