Brushy Mountain Bee Farm in the Brushy Mountain community, one of the largest beekeeping equipment suppliers in the nation, has been recognized for boosting its sales by over $2 million and nearly doubling its workforce from 2007 to 2008. …
- “Program offers free lunch to kids over summer,” News & Observer. Now that school is out, organizations around the state are getting funding to provide food to children who usually get free or reduced-price school meals. The Summer Food Service Program, which is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, provides free meals for those kids. …
