Having fun with hand washing

Who knew our webmaster would make a good hand model or that our network administrator could chop lettuce like a pro? These guys (and a few other NCDA&CS employees) volunteered a little bit of time recently to help make a series of short videos for the Food and Drug Protection Division about food safety. Three of the videos focus on proper hand-washing techniques and the others focus on egg safety and avoiding cross contamination when handling raw meat.

The videos are campy and light-hearted, but manage to get the point across that proper hand washing and sanitation are the best way to prevent food borne illness. The division will use these videos when they make presentations to groups and schools. They also created a Spanish-language version for each video.
