After a wipeout from the devastating Easter freeze of 2007, Henderson County apple farmers picked themselves up, dusted off and had a good year in 2008. Gross income including packing house income was $51.9 million, up from the 2007 gross of $12.9 million. “It was a bumper crop,” farm agent Marvin Owings said. …
