From pumpkin patches to cow pastures and apple pies to cotton T-shirts, N.C. agriculture is all around us.
And now, it is also on Facebook.
We launched a Facebook page for the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services to create a landing pad for everything we’ve put together on YouTube, Flickr and here on the blog. We also hope to build a community for everyone who supports N.C. agriculture.
You’ll find videos, pictures from the Got to Be NC Festival and Ag Jam (and more photos coming soon), info on the industry and an RSS feed connected to the In the Field blog. It also has links to sign up for the department’s e-News distribution list and the monthly Agricultural Review paper.
According to the newly released 2007 Census of Agriculture, the average age of N.C. farmers is 57. We hope this page will be one of the tools our next generation of farmers can use to learn more about the industry, as well as a place for consumers to learn about all of the programs the NCDA&CS supports.
We’re happy to have 53 “fans” and counting, so if you’re on Facebook check out the page. After all, who isn’t a fan of food and clothing?
